You can now specify the paths on your website that should be translated. You can list the paths by listing them in a new line. Only the page paths entered in this field will be translated. For example, for websitename.com/some_path/, only the pages that fulfill the mask websitename.com/some_path/ will be sent for translation.

We have now added three new languages to our platform in the Latin (Roman) alphabet: Uzbek, Serbian, and Azerbaijani. You can translate these languages instantly with Smartcat AI and review them in Smartcat Editor.
Upload any document to our projects and translate them into these languages in seconds. Then, you can hire a subject-matter-expert reviewer from Smartcat Marketplace to edit and fine-tune your translation to ensure it meets your voice, terminology, and style preferences.
To set up these languages for AI translation, go to the pre-translation settings of your project to configure them under the generative AI translation option.
We have added a new button to our toolbar in Smartcat Editor! Using this button, you can now rollback to the previous stage for one or all languages and their batch version. You can revert one segment, selected segments, or all segments.
What is a stage?
A translation stage are the various steps in your translation process. For example, you could be using AI translation to translate your content in seconds, followed by editing or proofreading, and lastly by an LQA review. Pressing this button in this toolkit would instantly revert the translation back to that previous stage. So, if an AI translation was edited, it would then return to its "raw" AI translation state before editing.

You can now merge segments from different paragraphs in Smartcat Editor! The ¶ symbol shows the edges of paragraphs after merging. This highly anticipated improvement won't affect how the downloaded document will look. Smartcat still provides results with the same structure and formatting as the original (source) document.
So, how does it work?
By selecting two segments, you can merge them using the Merge button in the Editor toolbar. You then get a single segment where text from the two original segments is split by the paragraph marker (¶). This symbol will be used to split text back into original segments when you export the resulting translated document.
A note for project managers
When working with freelancers from the Marketplace, the segments must be merged before the project is assigned. If one or more segments already have translation memory matches, merging them after the project has started will affect the project’s statistics.
Merging is reflected for all project target languages
When you merge segments in one language, it will also merge them for all languages. In some instances, the project may need to unconfirm segments to ensure these are properly reviewed by the subject-matter-experts or reviewers.
The Smartcat Translator plugin for Figma has just received a new update: it now supports the selection of multiple collections for software Localization projects in Figma. Now, you can select a collection for each frame on the Figma board.
We noticed a small bug that was affecting the filters for the translation memory (TM) unit source and target language. Now, the total word count will update correctly when different filters are applied, and the main area refreshes as expected.
Great news! You can now customize special characters in Smartcat Editor as well as use invisible symbols such as Unicode RTL/LTR marks when using the special character function in Smartcat Editor.
We quickly fixed an issue where AI translation did not work for segments that contain numbers with a comma. But, the problem has was resolved faster than lightning by our agile developer team!
We have now added new integration API methods to request glossary export. You can get full details at developers.smartcat.com

You can now add a little bit of color to your translations! We have now added support for emojis in translation memory match suggestions. So, you can localize those emojis for each new demographic to ensure that these are understood or accepted in the target culture.
We've rolled out a feature to bolster user privacy, especially benefiting linguists. Formerly identified as "Name Hidden," users will now appear as A**** N****, a universal safeguard using the first letters of their first and last names along with four asterisks.
This enhancement proves particularly advantageous for corporate clients and linguists engaged in collaborative projects. Whether a corporate client assigns a Linguistic Service Provider (LSP) or the LSP assigns a freelancer, the client's project manager will now see an anonymized version, such as "I**** K****." It ensures that crucial information remains confidential during communication and revision processes. Additionally, linguists assigned from different organizations to various workflow stages will enjoy heightened privacy, such as LQA Reviewers who won't have access to the linguist's name during the review process, creating a secure and confidential work environment.
Threads are visible for everyone in the LQA-project. But names are hidden:
Manager sees everyone's names. In the manager's view, everyone Name has the (name hidden from others)
icon next to it
Assignee (freelancer, linguist) and reviewers only sees manager's name, while others are anonymous
When manager tags someone with @mention, the name will remain hidden for those who are not allowed to see that name.
Now, you can do much more when you upload MP4 files to Smartcat, such as split by cues, set a segment length limit, merge and split segments, and add new lines. These features came in handy with VTT files using the VTT parser, and now they can be used for MP4 files as well.
Smartcat's WordPress Multilingual Plugin now allows you to prevent conflicts with other plugins when sending content for translation by disabling WPML strings registration. So, if you encounter issues when submitting content to Smartcat, simply activate the "Disable WPML strings registration for a post when sending content to Smartcat" option in your Smartcat plugin settings.
You will now see an "import complete" dialog popup in the Smartcat Editor that will show up after a succesful import into your software localization projects. This is the same pop up you'll see on your project overview page).
