United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Edinburgh
I developed my love of languages as a young child when my family moved to Spain and I learnt to speak both Spanish and Mallorcan. On my return to the UK I continued studying Spanish and later earned a degree in Hispanic Studies at Glasgow University. I began learning both Portuguese and Catalan as part of my degree course and later moved to Lisbon to further study the language. A year spent working in Northern Spain led me to discover Galician.
Professionally I have spent over a decade working alongside educators to develop programs of learning in modern languages and sustainability. I combine my expertise in these fields with my practical experience and research in translation to create texts that are accurate, trustworthy and timely.
I am a full-time translator of Portuguese and Georgian to my native English with over 5 years of experience as a linguist. While Portuguese and Georgian are the languages I translate daily, I also occasionally translate from Galego, Spanish, and French into English.
I have extensive experience producing academic and legal translations as well as translations related to the wine world and the fields of linguistics, aviation, photography, education, government, and the military.
As for academic translations, I have translated academic articles and other works in the fields of linguistics, history, art history, photography, and oenology.
I have also translated constitutional articles, tax codes, other official court and government documents, pedagogical materials, and wine-related documents.
My capacity is 3,000 - 4,500 words per day. I also collaborate with clients from Texas to Tbilisi in several different time zones, so I am always at the ready for your translation needs!
